Use of कैसा/ कैसे/ कैसी (kaisa/kaise/kaisi)

Beginners usually find it confusing whether to use kaisa/kaise/kaisi. Ive often seen people from South India, struggling while talking. Often, they are confused when these terms should be used. कैसा/ कैसे/ कैसी (kaisa/kaise/kaisi) all means “How or What (of what kind)”.
कैसा is used for denoting masculine singular,
कैसे is used for denoting masculine plural , and
कैसी is used for denoting feminine singular and plural

Egs:-
कैसा
1) How is weather today? - आज कैसा मौसम है (Aaj kaisa mausam hai)?
2) How is Ravi? - रवि कैसा है (Ravi kaisa hai)?
3) How is your son? - आपका बेटा कैसा है (Aapka beta kaisa hai)?

कैसे
1) How are you? - आप कैसे हैं (Aap Kaise Hain)? -- formal
2) How are you? – तुम कैसे हो (Tum kaise ho)? – informal
3) How do you say "...."? - "..." कैसे कहते हैं? ("..." kaise kahate hai)?
4) How to avert the public’s attention from terrorism? - आतंकवाद से जनता का ध्यान कैसे हटाया जाए (aatangvaad se janta ka dhyaan kaise hataya jaye)।
कैसी
1) तुम कैसी हो? – How are you (tum kaisi ho)?
2) आपकी बेटियाँ कैसी हैं? - How are your daughters? – (Aapki betiyam kaisi haim)
3) How does his/her eyes look like? - उसकी आंखे देखने में कैसी होंगी (uski aankem dekhne main kaisi hogi)?

  1. घोड़ा कैसे दौड़ता है in this sentence horse is masculine singular.so they must use kaisa..why they are using kaise..plz answer..

    1. Kindly attach the context and provide the full sentence for a clear picture. The use of kaisa, kaisi, kaise also depends upon the context, the horse( is that a famous horse?), who is asking this question to whom?
      Regardless of the sex, certain words in Hindi are used to denote the whole group - eg.: chidiya,billi,pustak,...
      In Hindi, it is not uncommon to find the singular form used where the
      meaning is evidently plural.
